Left 4 Dead
The Sun: 1, Me: 0

I’m back from GDC, and being a pale east-coaster, I’m sporting a brand new sunburn. (Though I have to say that driving down the coast in a MG convertible was worth it.) Anyway, GDC was awesome. I talked to people, saw some cool stuff, and got inoculated against the next zombie outbreak.
Speaking of zombies…
I’ve been working on my campaign. Chapter 2 isn’t at the screenshot stage (unless you want to see a lot of empty rooms), but I’m also going back and doing some minor fixes on chapter 1 as I get more feedback. So stay tuned to both here and my portfolio, as I’ll be posting some new stuff soon.
Chapter one complete!
Feb 7th
Chapter one of my campaign is now complete and ready for playtesting. I’m happy with how it looks and plays right now, and after some feedback I’m sure I’ll be making some small changes, but it feels great to have the map at this stage. Now I’m moving on ahead to the next chapter, which will be completely indoors. I have to say that starting with an outdoor, rural map was a little challenging. I think I realize why there are a lot more indoor, or at least enclosed urban maps in the game itself.
I’m really enjoying telling the story of this campaign, and I think everyone will be pleased with what’s coming up in the future chapters. I have some panic events planned that should be a lot of fun. I’ll post a sneak peek at the next chapter in the next few days. In the mean time, check out the screenshots, and if you’ve got any questions about the campaign, feel free to leave a comment!
Gotta start somewhere
Feb 1st
Well, this isn’t really the start, as I’ve been working on this for a bit now, but it is the first level of my custom campaign. It’s actually in a playable state right now, there’s just some parts of it that don’t look too pretty yet. I’ll grab some screens and video after I fix a few things up and post it up here for you to see.
The starting level of the campaign takes place in the woods off of a road, and eventually leads the survivors towards the grounds of a large estate. The geography of the whole campaign is based off of the area where I grew up. (Outside of Pittsburgh, in an area that had an abundance of hills, woods, and very large, very old, farms.)
So that’s a little intro to what I’m currently working on. Stay tuned for much more to come!
